The ANU Research School of Finance, Actuarial Studies and Statistics (RSFAS)  has been named a Center of Actuarial Excellence (CAE) by the Society of Actuaries, in recognition of the strength of its actuarial programs.

ANU is one of 30 universities worldwide who hold CAE status.

"This endorsement assures students undertaking actuarial studies at ANU that they are receiving a high-quality education and will be well prepared for actuarial practice after graduating," said Professor Steven Roberts, Director of RSFAS.

"The Center of Actuarial Excellence status also gives the school the opportunity to compete for education and research grants only available to CAE universities."

According to the Society of Actuaries, CAE status is granted to universities that demonstrate excellence in actuarial science by meeting and or exceeding rigorous criteria relating to degree(s) offered, quality of curriculum, number and quality of graduates, faculty composition and beneficial actuarial research and scholarship.
